Ordinands in the Two Cities Area

I am glad to say that there are still many men and women offering themselves for the ordained ministry in the Two Cities. At the same time, Jeremy Crossley, who currently leads the team of Directors of Ordinands, will soon, I hope, be taking on some additional responsibilities in the City – I will write to you later in the month about this. He continues to look after our POT curates, assisted by Stephen Heard.

I am happy to tell you that the Revd Nicholas Papadopulos has agreed to become Director of Ordinands for the Archdeaconry of Charing Cross, leading the team already in place there, but easing Jeremy’s workload so that I can use his considerable gifts in other areas.

Nick already has extensive experience of ordinands from his years as chaplain to the Bishop of Salisbury, and from 1st of June, all potential ordinands in the Westminster deaneries should be referred to him.

He and Jeremy will keep in close contact and, together with Jackie Barry and Liz Russell, we hope to maintain our care of existing ordinands as well as sharing out the growing administrative and pastoral load of preparing others for Bishops’ Advisory Panels.

Please pray for Nick as he takes on this new responsibility and that the Lord of the harvest will continue to call men and women from across our parishes to serve him in the ordained ministry.

With thanks for our partnership in the Gospel
