Senior Practitioner: Youth Development Project

The Youth Development Project of the Diocese of London is an established and successful partnership between The Children’s Society and the Diocese of London – the largest and most diverse Diocese in the UK.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic youth worker with excellent team leader skills. Proven experience in working directly with children and young people (particularly in diverse communities) in a way that genuinely promotes children and young people’s voice is essential in this role as you will draw on this to motivate, inspire and equip parishes to do the same.

You will also be responsible for managing our youth-led grant making scheme, Go for Gold.

Much of the work will focus on parishes in the most deprived neighbourhoods although you will provide support across the Diocese. This will include advice, guidance, training and production of resources for parish youth workers and volunteers.

As the purpose of the role is to support the Diocese and its parishes it is essential that you can demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with churches or faith based organisations, understanding their motivation for engaging with young people.

The Children’s Society is a leading children’s charity. We are committed to creating a world where all children and young people are respected, valued and heard.
